Add .ASC file contents checking function

Add a function which detects what kind of data is present in a passed in .ASC file.

We would probably need cases for:

 - verts only
 - verts and colors
 - verts and normals
 - verts, colors, normals

    I re-added the function to check the contents of the .asc files.

    I made a test directory which contain different types of data.

    Test: all demos and tests should render.

    I found that when rendering verts + norms, I get about half
    the fps I should be getting. This may be a Minefield issue,
    but I'll file a bug for this.

    Thanks for this, will start testing in a couple of weeks on our types of data sets. I'm away in California for a ACM GIS conference so will look at it when I get back.
