Research WebGL Extensions

Reported by Andor Salga | May 29th, 2010 @ 07:16 PM

We need to get extensions working (currently they don't work in any browser) if we
want to use GL_ARB_occlusion_query. We may just have to wait until one of them supports this.

Chris Marrin wrote this on the WebGL mailing list:
There will be no extensions available in WebGL in the first release.

    Cedric Vivier wrote:
Currently WebKit returns the list of native GL extensions, which might
be confusing to web developers who might then assume that they could
be used in WebGL as well without a WebGL version of the extension
specification (as it seems was implied by Andor's question wrt
    ).

So we not only have to wait for extensions to be supported, but we
need the WebGL versions to be written.
